is it to late to put out wood duck boxes and have success this year

Maybe, but my folks and their neighbor put out two around this time last year and both were used last year. I say go for it.

I've noticed east facing boxes seem to be more inviting for nesting waterfowl. Read it somewhere and also notice east facing boxes in my aviary do better.
Helping ducks have a bad day since 1961.

I try to put my bluebird and duck boxes facing east. Most weather is from southwest and north.

I like that! I've got some plastic barrels I've been wanting to make barn owl boxes out of and I think that bucket idea may work.

how is that 5gal attached? Lag screws? And how long do they last before they get brittle?
