Folk's Folly for sure!! It is a local restaurant, and probably one of the nicest in Memphis. Quiet, very romantic atmosphere.

Here are a few of my favorite places in memphis, I think you would be pleased with any of these.
East Memphis:
Erling Jensen - probably my favorite place - very quiet and intimate - you will definitely feel it in your wallet
http://ejensen.com/
Folks Folly - great steaks - you can get private room as well

Midtown:
Restaurant Iris - Fairly new place - young chef - great guy - from Louisianna and went to Ole Miss - pretty eclectic menu - French Creole
http://www.restaurantiris.com/
Tsunami - cooper/young area - had a great meal the other night - Sea Bass there is hard to beat

Downtown:
McEwans - One of the best places in town - I work acrros the street and tend to eat there too much for my own good
http://www.mcewensonmonroe.com/
Felicia Suzanne's - The best outdoor patio in town - Felicia got her start cooking with Emeril - She's from Jonesboro, AR and has cooked in New Orleans and Charleston -bbq scallops are great

I would try Ruths chris, folks folley, they are both upscale quiet places with good steak.
The cappricio gril in peabody lobby is also very quiet intimate pricey
I hear paullettes is very good but have personally never been there.
And if you really want to impress go the extra mile and treat her to brunch sunday at Owen Brennans, it is very good.

Napa Cafe in East Memphis is a favorite of me and my wife. If you book ahead, they will set-up a table in the wine cellar for a special occasion. I booked it for an anniversary dinner and my wife loved it.
