What you gonna haul, Mark?

I started out hauling water and a row gator with mine. Went on wheat harvest after that hauling grain. Several years of spraying, hauling grain and hauling gravel after that and one fall hauling modules. That class A has helped pay the bills many times.

I got my class A back i college to get a job. I let the hazmat go the last time I renewed. $80 for the medical card, $40 for the renewal, and $150 for the test and background check was just too much for a hand to pay. :D I did manage to add a CL-65 endorsment to my commercial license a couple years ago.

True Story:

I was hauling a flatbed load of sweet taters from Mound Bayou to Belzoni about 12 years ago. Came through Shaw where the speed steps down from like 65 to 55 then 35 in the school zone. Local cop got me right past the school zone as I was slowing down when I realized the kids were walking across the yard. Yes, I was speeding. He wrote me for reckless driving in a school zone. I argued with him that the school zone sign was not flashing. This got me nowhere. It was one of those signs that had the 2 lights and said something like "35 when flashing, or when children are present" or something like that.

I went back to Shaw the day before and observed the signs as they didn't work at school time. Went to court the next day and told the judge the school zone signs weren't working so how could I be charged for reckless driving in a school zone.

End of story was I admitted speeding, but didn't get that "reckless driving in a school zone" on my CDL.
