House Raising

Postby MS River Rat » Tue May 03, 2011 6:55 pm

Does anyone know of a company that can raise a house? I have heard that Hay's Brothers in Clarksdale is no longer in business. I am going to raise my cabin another 10ft after the river goes down. The way it stands now, I will have a couple of feet in it now.

What does it usually cost?

does it depend on the situation or is it a square foot and elevation needed kind of deal??

Depends on the situation but, as a general rule, it is really expensive. I used the Hays brothers years ago and they did a good job. Obviously if it is to keep your house from flooding it may be worth the expense - was worth it in my case.
