Favorite Beer
Re: Favorite Beer
Two great summertime/lake/lawnmower beers:
Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat
New Belgium Sunshine
And two not-so-greats:
Easy Street Wheat...fair to middling. Not bad, but not great either.
Wild Blue...you better like blueberries....a lot. 8% ABV makes it a whole lot better.

Re: Favorite Beer
I was in great friends wedding in Highlands, NC this past weekend and bootlegged a few sixers back home. Fat Tire was one of the selected beers at the reception, so it was a great night for that simple fact alone.
The Left Hand Sawtooth Ale is by far my favorite beer. If you can find it buy all you can afford. They only had three six packs and one did not make it home.
The New Belguim Ranger IPA was bought out of curiousity and is okay, real hoppy. It takes a least two to develop a taste for it. The Abita Jackimo IPA and Sweetwater IPA are two IPAs that I really enjoy more.

i thought the same...nice and hoppy on the front, but had a lackluster finish to it.
Experience is a freakin' awesome teacher...

HH, I'm a bit envious that you found some Sawtooth. Every place in Bham is OUT. The Milk Stout is gone too. I did pick up a Left Hand Stranger American pale ale. It's tops, if you are a pale ale fan. I generally lean to the darker brews. But this one is a good summer beer.
Never assume.
Re: Favorite Beer
if you get atlanta, hop city has an outstanding selection...make sure you bring plenty of $$$, as you will want to stock up.....an entire isle dedicated to ipa's
. the other side of the store is homebrew goods. nice people.

Vulcan is out as well? That is where I always find it. I buy all I can whenever I run across it. I imagine that my stash will be gone after this weekend and I will be on the hunt for more once again.cupnglide wrote:HH, I'm a bit envious that you found some Sawtooth. Every place in Bham is OUT. Drink up, It's a Celebration!!
Re: Favorite Beer
I went into the Publix for six beverages in a handy carry container. The beer cooler looked like the bread aisle after the weatherman mentions snow. Shoulda known Memorial Day BBQs would wipe out their supplies.
I picked up a six of Sierra Nevada Porter (one of the very few non-Bud, non-Miller choices still available). This is a good beer! Very surprised. Didn't have much to go on picking it. They aren't known for their porters. Ha!

Re: Favorite Beer
I tried a six pack of Sweetwater's seasonal "Road Trip" recently. It was really good and not as hoppy as the 420.

Re: Favorite Beer
If you can find the Sweetwater Boat Trip it is even better. I have only found it in the large promotional box they sometimes have which includes several of their beers.

Had a couple of Stone Smoked Porters in Nashville recently. Easily my favorite porter now.
The two loudest sounds in the world are a BANG when you expect a CLICK and a CLICK when you expect a BANG.
Re: Favorite Beer
