new orleans hotel and eat place???
Re: new orleans hotel and eat place???
Luke is real good. Heck, stay at the hilton down there. It's in a great location and won't break the bank.

Loews, Crown Royal Astor, Royal Sonesta, Monteleone, Intercontinental.....all good places to stay. Not a fan of the W, tho.
Lot of good food suggestions thrown out, too. GW Fins for seafood. Dickie Brennan's for steaks. Cresent City Brewhouse has a good lunch and has a cool home brew sampler to wash it down. Palace Cafe on Canal has a banging dessert menu they keep making after the dinner crowd is gone.

Save your lodging money and stay at the Comfort Suites on Poydras or the Queen and Crescent. I just never understand why people would want to spend alot of money on a room with a bed in it. For me, that leaves me more money to eat a variety of meals. For those that drink, leaves more money to drink with.

Gotta stop in the ole Absyinthe for a bourbon after stuffing your face at felix's and then you really gotta try the Court of Two Sisters for brunch Sunday, screw the lines at Cafe du Monde.

I'm gonna have to disagree on Felix...love that joint and it feels low key to me. I'm game. Got the place to stay. Find a fun weekend when something is going on and we're down. Good music or something. Lets all get a weekend we can all go and Im game!

At least Felix's doesn't have the 45 minute line of idiot tourist complete with fanny packs, white socks and velcro Tevas that Acme Oyster House has right across the roadblgros1 wrote:Yeah but so is Felix's(along with some other previous suggestions).........only thing i would even consider eating from there is oysters. You'll like the IH. I stay there almost every time I go down there to work.

If you want to do it all high-falutin' style, a room on the Club level at the Windsor Court and dinner at Galatoire's is very tough to beat.
