do any of the old hand's know the name of the little hole in the wall on the old way into town that serves "the Ikester" named after the umbrella rental guy. Basically a cup of tequilla and a beer.

Watched a local show down there about a month ago and they went to Pirate cove. Said they had the best cheeseburgers around, and a live band. Looked pretty cool.

If you can't have fun at the Flora-Bama then you must be dead or so ornery that you need to be back at the condo anyway. There are at least six bars in the place, two bands going most nights and tons of "interesting things" to look at. Best Beach bar on the coast!

Live Bait is more of a Club scene with dance music playing when the band is not.

Those are the only two places worth spending any time at down there. The rest mentioned are a stretch at best.

The Keg closes at 2 am now. Back in the day when it stayed open all night it was the afterhours place no questions asked. They have a pretty good cheeseburger, so I am told. Never really had the desire for a cheeseburger at 3am myself. 8)

I've been told the Happy Harbor is a "locals" hangout. Went by there Thursday night to pick up a pizza. There was a bar downstairs.....and music playing....and a decent crowd for 9:00 on a Thursday night. The bartender there told me there was going to be a kick @ss band from Mobile in there this weekend.......never made it back over there......Looked cool though.

My point is there are so many better places than that chithole. A lot of which has been mentioned here. That place is a hole in the wall that consists of 70% old saggy tittied age 50+ grannys and gramps (all of which rank a 7+ on the "coast trash" scale), 20% hippies that smell like my crew of Mexicans after working 12 hours in July- add a spice of dog chit to give it a litta' BAM- and you have a taste of the sting that you will get in your throat. 5% trashy "affliction" shirt- wearing, Ed Hardy- loving type dudes...you know the kind...the ones that rank right there with ghetto naggers on the rot in hell list. And the other 5% is tail that is under 50+. Now...most of that tail is of the type..well you know: that type that you would finger fugg in jr. high but didn't tell anyone... kind of okay, but you really knew she was a skank whore...yeah those kind...

My point is, it is a chithole that's waaaay overrated. Just like Auburn...cept maybe not quite as bad...

If that's your perception of the Flora Bama, you haven't spent enough time there. I have been going to the Flora Bama for 16 years and the beauty of the place is that you get to see all kinds of people. It is the embodiment of the David Allan Coe line "where bikers stare at cowboys who are laughing at the hippies who are praying they'll get out of there alive." I will be down there Monday night and Tuesday night if any of you boys will be in Orange Beach next week.

Getting back to the matter at hand, I once witnessed a friend of mine attempt to dance with a midget at 3am at the Keg only to be assaulted by said midget's midget boyfriend in a move that can only be described as a midget crow-hop. Its hard to look cool after you've been punched by a midget.

And the Keg does have a fine cheeseburger.

And have a bushwhacker at Pirates Cove.

You just described a Flora-Bama Tuesday night in November.

Try a Thursday - Saturday night in the Spring or Summer and I doubt you can back those unjustified claims.

You clearly are a Flora-Bama novice or the guy I saw last summer that tried to pick a fight because I had an Auburn hat on... Either way you can, as they like to say around here, STAY HOME!! 8)
