Armodillo Problem

Postby the doctor » Thu Jun 17, 2004 10:50 am

Any of you guys ever had a problem with armodillas at hunting camp or cabins. Got a proble at my cabin on the river and they are destroying the duct work to the air conditioner.

Any solutions or recommendations?

thanks guys I appreciate the sarcasm, I do...I have tried removing them (PC for killing) to no avail. Iwas kind of hoping for soem input on keeping them away or repelling them.

I found some coyote urine on the internet, supposed to be armodillas worst enemy

any one had any experience with repelling them?

That sounds like the best way to get rid of them! I would think a 20 gauge, full choke with buckshot would be the weapon of choice. Sit up next to the A/C with a cooler full of cold ones and let them come at ya!

Some of the country oldtimers in my family used to put moth balls out in the yard to keep them away. They swore by them. Just looks kinda funny when there are moth balls scattered around the yard.

Have had luck with wooden rabbit gum trap used with fence or guides and flavored with night crawler fish formula (scent). You can relocate them or turn'em loose and see how far they jump up when you shoot'em......
