Problems with a Super X3

Postby Henna Sag » Mon Sep 05, 2011 2:19 pm

I just replace my buffer spring with a sure cycle but it still jams up. I have noticed where the extractor on the bolt hits the barrel has made a burr spot on the barrel. Was wondering if anybody had some ideas.

i don't know no answer to that. that's actually the first time i've ever heard anyone complain of the SX3 doing that.. i know 870's will burr the barrell with the extractor.. but all you got to do is run a file across it once and bam.. she's back pump'n easy

I want to say (not 100% positive) that there was a bad batch of these guns made. One of my roomates in college had a Browning Gold, pretty much the same gun, and his had issues where the action hit the reciever up near the barrel. Only other advice I would give is take the gas cylinder off the magazine tube and soak it in some parts cleaner.

I have a SX2, had a problem with it not cycling. But mine was the bolt rod that seats into the buffer spring was missing it every once and a while. You might want to check that. I fixed it by putting a new buffer spring and guide in it.

Get a Maxus. Way better than the SX3 I had.
