I had a package stolen off my front porch today from Mack's. This is the second time I've had stuff left by UPS and Fed Ex when no one is home get up and walk off. Mack's is supposed to make it good and get their money back from Fed Ex. I filed a police report. This crap is getting old.

They are bad about leaving them on my porch, too. Haven't had anything stolen from mine yet.

My dad went out to run an errand today, my sister was at the pool, so he left the door open since all the windows were up, lights on, etc. Came back like 30 minutes later and a couple grand was missing out of his desk. We live in a nice neighborhood, real quiet, we're in a cove. Can't have anything anymore... Only thing we can think of is a....... "colored man" was walking down the street when he left.

they leave stuff in carport and dont even check to see if we are home (with two cars in the carport and lights on in house).

Had that happen myself years ago. Now, I always try to have mine shipped somewhere a person will be. Generally my office. Also had packages delivered to my dad before.

Funniest thing from this was when I ordered a 10/22 barrel for my ruger. They sent 12 by mistake. My dad asked if I had a small safe delivered.

I live out in the sticks and my mail box is in one of those rows of mail boxes out on the road with no houses in sight. Had Fedex leave a package on top of the mail boxes out on the road! He said he drove up to my house but was sure it was the right house so he left it on the road. He will not do that again!

I think these drivers must be on a clock or something because they are always just riding by and chunking it in the yard. Several years ago they had a series of skits on Saturday Night Live where a deliver driver dressed in brown shirt and shorts, obviously to look like and UPS driver, that couldn't sit still during the skits. He was like he was on speed which they really do act like when they are delivering stuff. At least what I've seen. I don't have anythings against the drivers and UPS and Fed EX must have it built into their business models that they will accept a certain amount of lost product for the speed and efficiency of leaving it on the door. It's still a pain in the butt to have to go through the hassle of trying to get it back and the fact that somebody stole from my house.

Police officer who lives around the corner is the one who took the report and he said it is happening all over Tupelo. Funny thing is the person who stole it is going to open it up and see a pair of waders and not know what the heck they are. He said nah. We'd probably see some Democrat walking down the street with waders on with no shirt starting a new hip hop fad.

Kudos to Macks. They jumped right on it and are shipping a replacement today. Much better than when the same thing happened with Cabelas a couple months ago. They kept bouncing me around so I filed a dispute with the bank. Cabelas threatened to take me to collections and I told them to come to Mississippi and let's dance. Never heard anything else from them. I kept telling them I filed a police report and if somebody was trying to mess them over they wouldn't file a police report about it. Didn't matter.

The bigger problem is what's happening in the town. Police last night said it was everywhere and not to think our neighborhood was falling apart. He said Springlake and Ridgeway, two of the local rich bush areas, are really bad.

UPS and Fed EX usually give you a tracking number via Cabella's or others. The day it comes to my house in Columbus I have the stay at home Mom across the street
watch out for it if we aren't going to be home. Plus they both deliver about the same time each day which helps. So far so good.

My folks live in that area. They used to leave their vehicles unlocked at night, until my dad walked out one morning and both of the cars were wide open and all of their stuff was in the yard. Cops said thieves have been going through neighborhoods out there at night and looking for unlocked cars.

seymore what area are you in, just wondering how close to my hood (joyner). I got inlaws in Ridgeway as well and they have to lock up everything now, way to much thieving going on.

On a side note, thanks to anyone on this board from Clarksdale for loaning the city of tupelo one of your resident non swimmers who in turn shot and killed not one but two people last week in an area very close to my neighborhood.

I live in the new part of Wildwood, the one closest to the airport. The officer that took our report told me the lady who was killed in the double murder was still sitting in her chair with a book in her lap when she got hit by the bullet. Killed her instantly. The guy who opened the door put his hand up and the non simmer shot him through the hand and killed him.

Heck, you think about it, pretty darn easy to follow the UPS/FEDEX truck around and collect what he drops off, when no one is hope. Easy pickings for the bad guys.
