Second Bow Kill

Postby igetducks2 » Sat Oct 01, 2011 3:49 pm

I got up at 5:30 this morning and rode out to where I killed my first deer with a bow two years ago. I had some pictures of a few cull bucks and does, and that's all I was really wanting. I got in my ground blind at about daylight and got ready. A small four point walked out at 7:30 and at 9 I looked up and saw a big spike coming towards me. I got ready and waited. He walked in the grass but then turned around and started coming back. When he turned I drew back and double lunged him from four yards out of a ground blind and he didn't see me! He ran about 100 yards and I heard him pile up. I called my dad and he helped me find him. He weighed 130 lb and had 7 and 3 inch spikes. Great way to start up bow season!

kid gets a deer at four yards from a ground blind and I can't get one within 75 yds of one

Congratulations on an awesome hun. It does not matter if it is a spike, doe, or or booner, at 4 yds everything is a trophy. Pretty cool.
There will be a day....
