Parcel Post is basically like flying stand-by. If there's room it goes, if not it stays. You could mail 10 seperate packages Parcel Post to the same address and there would probably be 10 different # of days in transit.

When I ship USPS (which I do most every time), I ship using Priority Mail Flat Rate. Nothing wrong with FREE supplies and they are 2-3 days transit times. I've never trusted Parcel Post and have received a number of Parcel Post boxes come in all beat up. You'd think they were handled by UPS (United Parcel Smashers).

When I ship to people, I use priority as well. The items being shipped to me (two 9' 2 piece fly rods, plus tubes) are pretty large so I'm sure the seller was trying to save money. I get that, but dayum! Over a week for shipping from Bama to Miss. is just crazy.

Now I'm nervous that, thanks to parcel post, I may end up with two 8' 3 piece rods if they bang sh*t around like everyone's saying they do...

Yes, and there's a maximum (something like 400 pounds) daily that USPS carriers are allowed to touch. Not only fed guv employees: they're unionized!
