How in the hell do they not have any water?

This place has no watershed to flood it. Basically there's a canal going through it that has to flood to put water in the impoundments. And it's not close to flooding. They didn't hold a single hunt last year.

I am fairly sure I know the wma you are talking about. It is ridiculous the state puts thousands and thousands of dollars into that place every year and it never gets water to benefit the ducks, much less flood it. If I am not mistaken for the past 3-4 years the hunting has been limited and consequently very few birds have been killed or even attracted to the area. It use to be some good hunting. They need pumps before they drop another load of money on it and hundreds of hours of man-time.

If it's the one I am thinking about, when they first opened it most times when went we did very well on the birds. After the first couple of years the standby crowds were so ridiculous it wasn't worth the bother. It progressively got worse and worse. I know in talking to locals, the wma I am thinking of use to be top notch before it became a wma and the area flooded.

That 5 dollars would have gone alot further "for the ducks" if it would have gone to DU. Its not about how much money it is, but yes I was thankful for the call!

Probably not, woulda paid part of the light bill for the headquarters in Memphis!
