Re: Hate Crime in Attala County?
Looks like two men may be going to jail for the rest of their lives and another is dead over a load of scrap iron. It's bringing about 12 cents per pound over my way, hope it was worth it. And for all you guys who think it'll deter other thieves in the area, you're kidding yourselves, it wont slow down one bit.
Re: Hate Crime in Attala County?
If I suspected anyone of comitting a crime, I would never go to thier house and confront them. I would call the sheriff and let them handle it.. Your just asking for trouble to walk up to someone's house that you suspect of robbing you and ask them to go with you to the sheriff's office..

A little or a lot of scrap iron, or anything else short of hurting people AIN'T worth shooting somebody

Re: Hate Crime in Attala County?
Just wondering if anyone has taken the time to google the victims name, the media is portraying him as a national guard hero when in reality he is a recent grand larceny parolee and known local thief. The only photo they are showing of him is in his guard suit and not the one on mugshots.com. During the chase they were on the phone with a dispatcher while a deputy was in route. I believe there intentions were to only keep up with him till the deputy got there, but something must have went bad wrong in the woods. Barber didnt even have a gun in his possession. Do you really think a recent parolee is not gonna do whatever it takes to not get caught doing the same thing he is on parole for? I would never condon chasing down anyone and shooting them unless they had harmed my family but we dont really know what went on in those woods. Im just going to wait till the whole story and truth comes out. I will say this though I know the barber guy personally and he does not have a mean bone in him and would not intentionally harm anybody I believe.

Agree 100%, but the problem with this whole process is that by the time the NAACP gets done the dead thief will be some sort of hero victim to "THEIR" entire community. Al and Jesse will get "THEM" so stirred up the they'll be back to thinking they're entitled to mine and yours before the NAACP bus ever leaves for the next fiasco.deltadukman wrote:Yeah if thats truely the case, then they are in deep schit.
On another note, as vigilante and heinous as it sounds, maybe some of these crackheads and thieves will get the message that the good, law abiding folks are getting tired of this and not afraid of them anymore and are willing to take matters into their own hands. Not saying what they did was correct in todays PC times, but to be honest, back in the old days when crime wasnt as rampant as today, if you stole from me, it was perfectly acceptable to go get you, wherever you may be, and do what had to be done. Maybe "THEY" will get the message.
All points aside about 12 cent/pound iron, going to the guys house, chasing him into the woods, him ending up dead.....he or somebody started the whole ordeal by taking something that wasn't theirs to take.

I have had the sheriff's deputy at my parents property (in which I lived on at the time) several times in the past b/c of theives. Even tore down my late grand parents house due to theives breaking in. The remains of the house were still laying around and theives were getting stuff. Getting the sheriff involved led to their arrest while they were taking someone elses property. This was six miles from Sallis in Attala County. The law does work sometimes if you let it.
Bad choices on both parties involved.

I have to agree with you. I don't know if this guy was guilty or not. I know it was not handled correctly or the way I would have done it. They should have never went to his house. But what is it with the liberals on here? A thief is a thief. Look at the stats. Normally they start by taking things and progress from there. I hate a thief worse than anything else. Do they deserve to die? No. Should I turn a blind eye and let them take everything I've had to work for? Absolutely not. I got a friend of mine that lives in Mobile. He ows a very successful landscaping business. He has had over $18000 in the last three years stolen from him. The last time, the thief drive a vehicle through the front of his building and stole everything but his mowers(which we chained together after the last breakin). Should we feel sorry for people like that.Ryano wrote:Yeah BUD.... Im feckin serious!! Just stating the obvious dude. Tired of people thinking everything should be given to them. I bust my butt everyday for my family not for some low life to sit at home everyday and come after dark to make his money.
I'm also speaking in general and not about this particular story. I will say again, these guys handled this wrong. I wanted to say that before panties got inserted in the wrong place

Same old story. Put up security cameras and gave police several pictures and videos but nothing ever happens. Most of the time it's the polices kin folk doing the stealing4dawgma wrote:Buckwabit wrote: I got a friend of mine that lives in Mobile. He ows a very successful landscaping business.
