Rules on installing septic tank? Who to contact, ect. (Leflore county) Thanks

Yep, health department has to come do a soil test to tell you what type you can use and then cut you a permit. Rumor has it that in about a years time all they will be allowing is residential treatment plants. It seems like they are already being proactive by allowing nothing else. I just had to put in a treatment plant and I'm on a sandy hill that perqs like nobody's business! Go figure.

Yep, local health dept. Don't get tore up if they tell you treatment plant, there's not a lot of cost between the two if you put in a septic tank and field line properly vs. a treatment plant. Just make sure you get a reputable installer.
