Looks like NC State, Baylor, Oklahoma, and Stoney Brooke make supers

4 SEC teams in supers with Good chance of 4 making it to OMAHA

Apparently Stoney Brook, a college I have never personally heard of, has at least one stud pitcher and some really solid bats. When I learned that we were playing them, my first reaction was that LSU will be in Omaha. After a little research, I am not quite as sure. They appear to be pretty stinking good.

Oh well, that's baseball I'm sure we'll get em next year. I hope to be tipping my cap soon to the Mike Biano era of Ole Miss baseball.

I wouldnt look past them by any means.... they have more wins (against lessor oppopnents) than anyone in the tourney and have put up over 50 runs in 5 games of the regionals. They are a Fresno State type of team that no one will give much thought to until its too late and they done won the dang thing. Yall playing at 11 on Friday aint gonna help you one bit either. Now if LSU was playing a night game at the BOX i think the croed domination would stunn them.

If I was LSU i would have rather seen UCF, gonna be hard for the LSU players to get really fired up and ready to play a team with a schedule made up with the likes of maine, new york tech, fairmount, etc... They did play ECU which was in the tourney but got swept by one run in all three games

You are probably right. Truth be told, it is pretty amazing that LSU has made it this far as poor as they are at hitting. They are by far the worst hitting LSU team I ever remember. Absent Gausman, the pitching is barely above average for LSU over the last 20 years...maybe average to below average all things considered.

Mainieri has done a very good job given what he has recruited to work with. This team, IMO, is not as talented as State, Arkansas or Ole Miss and ran away with the regular season division title and won the regular season SEC.

I said I would be satisfied with a super regional appearance and I am sticking to my word. Anything else is just gravy at this point.

He's a Top 5 coach ..........Ole Miss can't do that.

As for Cutcliffe, Ole Miss hired him for one thing, to bring in Eli, which we did. Once Eli was gone, his services were no longer needed.

May be some truth in that, but mostly just a bunch of fan assumption bull mixed with Pete Boone bamboozlement...

to a coach that's looking at a job, not a fan...schools like Ole Miss that fire a coach like Cuttcliffe after the success he brought (Manning or not) is a dangerous place to consider home...I'd say same for Mike Bianco being ousted after all he's done and this season's end...had they missed post-season for second year in a row, maybe...after falling just short of adv in playoffs and having a ton of returning players and great recruiting and newly hired a big name assistant...firing Bianco right now would be suicide to the program...and in SEC, don't think you can afford a 2-3 year tailspin when you got all those expectations and all that new ballpark to fill up and pay for....

for what it's worth...I didn't think Ole Miss was going anywhere with Cuttcliffe and wasn't excited about another year of Cutt minus Eli, but the handling of that whole deal was typical Boone and the results provide 20/20 of how bad it was
