charter boat recomendations for Gulf Shores
charter boat recomendations for Gulf Shores
I typically fish by myself one day during the family vacation because my son isn't quite ready yet. However, last year I went out of Zekes landing with about 18 other people all from Wisconsin and none of them had ever seen a red snapper. One lady got a hook in her hand and the other 10-12 spent most of the trip "painting" the boat. I just need some recomendations from you guys on some captains or charters that bottom fish with smaller groups. Thanks for the help

Brian Davis I believe is the captian of the "Mrs. Ginny" out of Zeke's Landing. Went down for the Red Snapper opener couple weeks ago. Had his 16 yr old son helping with all aspects from baiting, cleaning, swapping rod and reels, etc. Very professional guys and great trip.

When you going down, TJames. I'm headed down the week of July 4th. I've wanted to look into a charter but never have.

I highly recommend Capt Wes Rozier, he is an inshore fishing guide. he put us on lots of mackrel, and some real big red fish, 20-30lbers.

his rates are on the web site. he really is a stand up guy and a blast to fish with. i like inshore fishing much better, because its light tackle, you can keep alot more fish, and its a fraction of the riding time. and cheaper.
beside one you catch your 2 snapper your done, those guides don't let you sit on hole and just wear them out.

I have Another Getaway out of Zekes booked for the 1st. Will let you know how it goes.
Re: charter boat recomendations for Gulf Shores
I am actually here now. I have talked to the guys at zekes and they have set me up with a "shared expense" boat. From what I understand this is a smaller boat that needed another person or two. I am going out tommorow and will let yall know how it goes. Thanks for all the help!

Once you catch your red snapper, you start targetting amberjack, cobia, mangrove snapper, etc. You don't go fishing just for red snapper and come back after two fish per person. That said, everybody needs to catch a rig donkey atleast once in their life.

Got back late yesterday afternoon with 2 great snapper. Went on the Shady Lady and had a great time. The deck guys are Adam and Matt and they did a great job. Captain Butch had us on the fish all day. Would highly recomend them to anyone!
