The new blues players just don't sound like classic blues to me. I would rather listen to the old stuff

What he's playing is not that complicated.

To someone that has played since age 12. The first things I learned how to play were old basic blues riffs. I've got busy over the years and music is not what it used to be to me

Nice, I love how he plays an epiphone casino. Not too flashy, but just flashy enough.

On a side note, I found a cd store in Tyler, TX that sells cd's for cheaper than any place I have ever seen. To me, there is still something about buying the album that you don't get with itunes, etc. I bought the new Tedeschi Trucks Band's live album named " Everybody's Talkin'" and let me say...it is TIGHT. One thing I get disappointed about in regards to Derek Trucks' albums is the noticeable absence of his guitar. Some songs he puts his awesomeness into it, others you get just a hint- but rarely do I ever buy an album where I get enough. I guess it just shows that maybe that is one reason why his band stays together and I keep buying his albums- he doesn't steal the excitement from the other band members and I don't get to eat a steak on every song. But on this album it is an all-you-can-eat of Derek Trucks guitar. Highly recommended. I hope I didn't hijack too bad.

I don't know if anyone has ever heard of them, but the the thread about the ukulele made me think of The Steeldrivers. They are a bluegrass band. Here is a youtube clip of a sentimental song to me. Funny how certain music and songs make you think of different periods of life. This is one helluva song and they are one helluva band.

You know the Stringed instrument is slowly becoming a lost art. I love to hear someone just sit down with an accoustic Guitar and play. But of all my favorite instruments....The Old Gibson Hounddog BOBRO is the best. I love to hear someone play that DOBRO. Like old Jerry Douglas

Enjoy...

Nice!

I bought a roundneck dobro a few years ago. Me and a buddy were headed to the Neshoba County Fair the day after I bought it, and I leaned it up on the side of the truck to load some other stuff up. I somehow forgot about it and we backed over it (it was in a soft case). I freaked out, grabbed the case to open it expecting a pile of wood and strings to be inside, and I'll be damned if it looked and played like nothing had ever happened to it. I'd never believe it, don't expect anyone else to, but it is the honest truth!

That's 24 minutes and 19 seconds of my life I'll never get back...... while he's talented, I guess when I saw "blues" I was expecting something along the lines of Call It Stormy Monday, Red House, or Come On In My Kitchen :D :D
