Filson jackets

absolutely. they more you wear it they better it'll look and feel; i'll give mine to my grandkids.

Every last penny. I took mine out the other day when I was home just to get a whiff to remind me of a cold north wind that is not far away. Nothing will cut the wind like a Filson. An insulated shirt up under it is all I need most of the time. I re-waxed mine a couple of months after I bought it as you are supposed to, and in a slow, cold, soaking downpour I was completely dry. I can't say the same about my hunting partners. And the best part about them is that they are stylish as well. I may wear mine hunting that morning and air it out that day before I put it on to go out for dinner. You will not be sorry, and neither will your grandkids.

If you like one longer in the waist the outfitter is great. Can get zip in liner also

Mine is the field jacket in otter cloth. It's well worth the money and can wear hunting or out dinner. Have a zip in liner but I've never used it Awesome jacket a lot warmer than some other brands

I bought it while in Seattle. Tried on every tin cloth and shelter coth jacket they had. The field jacket fit the best. The chest-high wool handwarmer pockets are a great feature.

The pic on the website looks like it has a wool liner, or some type of liner, zipped into the jacket. Did this come with y'all's, or is it just the outer shell?

I think they have it like that to help fill out the look. The field jacket doesn't come standard with that, or mine didn't. The collar is wool lined.

Circle 7 had several different kinds when I went to buy mine. I was a little bit scared of the tin cloth because I had a hat before that was knocked overboard, and I remember it being somewhat stiff. On the same day my girlfriend got me the jacket I bought another tin cloth packer hat. The jacket may not look warm at first- and it really isn't that warm as far as "coziness" goes- but it is like sitting inside a cabin when a north wind is howling outside. If the heater ain't on it may not be "warm", but that cold wind and cold air isn't hitting you. An insulated shirt will seal the deal. Long after the Browning and Columbia jackets have failed miserably in keeping their occupants warm, you are going strong. The only downside is that you are not ready to go when everyone else is. Put it this way- my other two hunting padnas are probably going to be wearing them this winter.

A lot of times when we are hunting a hole that requires a death march (per deltadukman) I won't even take a blind bag. I just load up both sides with shells, put a few inflatable decoys, chit paper, life condiments and a bottle of water in the back zipper compartment and go. Phone goes in the inside pocket in a small otter box for pics and such. No blind bag or decoys. Just a gun and a jerk string. And the thing that is so crazy about it is that the jacket is broken in good. It got abused and used, but that thing will probably see a sunrise long after my old bones have been lowered into the ground and the dirt has found its happy home again. Built like a damn tank.

Make no mistake people, this is Field after an afternoon roost shoot being his normal douchebag self. Too cool to celebrate. Too cool to NOT wear baby seal skin hunting coats. This sums up why he was kicked out of our club.
