I know that this is nowhere near the level of what y'all are talking about, but I bought an old style DC this spring and have every intention of hunting with it this year. Is it crazy of me to think that part of the "coolness" of older calls is putting them in the field from time to time?

I think what the BPS dude meant was they are numbered by lot, as in part of someone's collection either donated to BPS or loaned to BPS for display - I'd guess like all the other antique stuff in the display cases inside the store. As far as I can tell the display's can't be opened w/o a ball peen.
