Deviney woods

Postby Unlucky Duck » Sun Aug 19, 2012 11:11 am

Anyone know anything about this place? Does it notoriously hold birds like the other elite places such as fighting bayou and York woods?

If this is the same place that was featured on MS Outdoors, it looks pretty impressive. I am assuming you are talking about Billy Deviney's Place in Bolivar County. If I am not mistaken, it is really close to Indian Lakes...Rives Neblett's place...which holds some birds as well.

That is exactly the place. What is the story on it?

It is a "if you build it, they will come" success story from what I am told. Of course, my knowledge is second hand...I've never set foot on the place, likely never will.

Watch episode 2208. http://www.mdwfp.com/ms-outdoors-tv.aspx

On a side note, when they jump shoot into thousands of birds, what is the chance they exceed their limts or violate some other laws? I am guessing pretty decent.

He and his "hunting experiences" are also determining how alot of you hunt public land....as a commissioner, he thinks it's asinine to wake up at 2-3 am to get to a public hunting spot

I thought the same thing....hard to tell in video but would imagine a fair number were killed and a few more crippled shooting into that group.

I worked for him for 15 years managing some of his hunting land. Believe me when i say he will spare no expense when i comes to this stuff. He his very passionate about his hunting and a great guy to go hunting with. I always tell folks if i had his money i would spend it the same way he does.

He ain't got no birds to hunt.
