Winchester SX3
Winchester SX3
I am about to buy a Winchester SX3 in duckblind camo pattern. I have never used one so just wanted some input on the gun. Let me know what you think about the gun. Likes/dislikes, problems, positives, etc. I just wanted some reviews that weren't off of google or a winchester site.
Thanks

Re: Winchester SX3
I personally like the gun, but I also know that I wouldn't drop that much money without finding a buddy with one and shooting it. I shoot an SBE II, but my buddy has an SX3...it feels good and swings nice.
The only thing I can say negative so far is that I've seen his gun not cycle some low brass, cheap loads....< 1-1/8 ounce, but he also doesn't necessarily clean his all that often either...
My suggestion is find someone that has one and fire some shots through it. Also, find a local gunsmith and ask them how many SX3's they have to work on compared to other models.

Re: Winchester SX3
Me and a buddy purchased one about a month ago. We shot cheap walmart winchester shells through them with no jams on our dove hunt. Just passing this along we bought ours at Philadelphia Gun and Pawn for 699 3 inch chamber, 28 in barrel, black synthetic brand new in box. They may be sold out everybody in there was buying one. Good luck.

Re: Winchester SX3
I love them. As I've said before, if mine were stolen tonight, I would buy another one in the morning. I like the feel of the dura touch but it does rub off.
Re: Winchester SX3
I have one and if I was going to buy one again I would get a black one and get someone to dip it for you because dura touch is crap. My gun has turned white because of the paint coming off. But if I was going to buy a gun today it wouldn't be a SX3. I would get the Urikia made by Rhino Chokes.

Got one and would buy another. I got the gunmetal gray and like everyone's else said the dura touch will rub off after a while.
Re: Winchester SX3
By far my favorite. I've had an M2 & SBE II, but the SX3 shoulders and swings the best. It's also the most reliable.
I've got the gun metal grey with the black butstock and forearm. The only bad thing is that its hard to clean mud off the duratouch.

I sold my duratouch SX2 and bought a black one and had it dipped. Love the gun, hate duratouch.

I have an older SX2. The dura-touch is discolored in some places but I have no problem with it peeling off.

Re: Winchester SX3
Got one in breakup. Had it 3 yrs I think, I bought it the first year they were out. Mine has dura-touch, but it has yet to fade or peel. I have been told insect spray will cause it to peel. I love the gun and would buy another tomorrow if mine were stolen. I shot all of them sbe2, extrema, and the franchi, one weekend at Mack's. The SX3 shouldered and shot the best to me. I have only had one certain type round not cycle every shot, and that's winchester ultra light trap loads from the wal-mart.
Damn, i thought I had that one
