Book Ideas

Postby mille011 » Thu Sep 27, 2012 10:42 am

With hunting season right around the corner, I was looking for some good books to read while on the stand. Have any of you ever read The Dummy Line? I was thinking about getting that one. Any other good ones you all have read?

It sounds like a good thriller, but I also like good history/hunting from around mississippi. Something like Holt Collier.

Thanks

The absolute best books that I have ever read were by Stephen Hunter. Language is heavy, but suspense and action is unbelivable. The Bob Lee Swagger Series are awesome. However, read them in order as they reference each other. Pale Horse Coming is the best.

Harlan Coben is another really good suspensful and unexpected twists and turns kind of writer.

Have you read The Jakes? That is a fine book to read. Could not stop laughing.

+1 on the Dummy Line but I highly recommend you don't try to read it on the Deer stand... you will never see a Deer! it's that good

Jeb Stuart Watters From the nights rain is good too...

Marcus Luttrell Lone Survivor is another good one...

Rising Tide: The Great Mississippi Flood of 1927 and How it Changed America this one will last most of the deer season... haha

Thats no chit. One of the most boring books ive ever read. It had some highlights but for the most part i had to make myself read it. Highly overrated imo.

The dummy line is an awesome book one of those that once you start reading you really wont want to put it down because you want to know what happens next.

Bought it yesterday morning finished it this afternoon, good book very informative but nothing that I would think is classified like all of Washington is hollering about
