I already saw that. Tommy farms in Issaquena county. He is one of the two Justice Court judges in the county.

I don't get the negativity either, but there aren't a lot of people around the store and there's not much traffic there most days so I could understand some skepticism. I think it may go through slow periods but in the long run if they have good service, keep dependable hours, and have good food (especially Thurs/Friday/Saturday nights) they'll be fine.

Will they still sell stage planks and pops? Will the common man, work-a-day sort still be able to make a purchase of an old redneck staple?

This should answer your question:

Here's a post from a resident that has lived near the store for most of his life:
I checked out The Onward store today, it reopened yesterday, very nice. The new owner kept the historic charm along with making needed changes to give the store a fresher look. She has added more local history. Got to give her an A+.

It probably won't be the exact same but obviously the exact same didn't work. They have to blend the two, a functonal place that regulars will still stop by with a mix of tourist attraction for folks enamored with the Delta and al lit has to offer.

I wish them well, the Delta and MS need more peolpe investing in it.

If you knew him you'd completely understand, judge out in Issaquena city, if you don't know him you defiantly haven't missed anything.
