Or someone will walk right into the studio and punch you in the mouth on LIVE TV!
Yep happened in Memphis years ago to Joe Brown. Think the guy was pissed becuase he took off to go fishing and he was told the wrong weather, All I do know is it had to do with fishing
My Grandad ran into Woody Asaff at a tire store in Jackson sometime back in the 60s and told him he had a goat that could predict the weather more accurately. Asaff took it in good stride and commented during his broadcast that "an old gentleman from Mendenhall told me his goat was a better forcaster than I am, so I guess we'll be checking in with Mr. Smith's goat from now on". Or that's the story I'm told, anyway.
You wouldn't believe the calls emails and talking to you get while being a weatherman

For what it's worth - looking at my log from last year, we were in SK from 10/16 thru 11/10. It had just recorded the first freeze on 10/15. By 11/1 the temps dipped to 20 then mid-20's to 30 for lows on 11/2 - 11/6. It snowed for the first time on 11/6. We hunted the next morning in 8 degrees. The highs never got out of the upper 20's thru 11/10, all the water in the area was locked-up and we knew we were 'done'. So, we left 3 days early ahead of the next rain/ice/snow event.

They had snow in some parts yesterday. Temps are just now starting to drop into the sub-freezing range with lows projected in the mid-20's. Next week brings colder temps - then the next week should be some significant snow accumulations and lows consistently below freezing.

All this to say the 'cool-down' is about to start - it started around the last week in October last year. So, already it is earlier than last year by 3 weeks if the forecasts hold-up. Significant snow events look like they're going to occur about 3-4 weeks earlier than last year based on the current 1-week look-ahead. It remains to be seen how significant they will be.

'Looks like it will cool down next week - it'll snow - then warm-up just a bit - then cool-down again - the water will start freezing the last part of October instead of 2nd week of November as last year.

Next 2 weeks' events should get things kicked-off a bit earlier this year. We'll see.

This is true, i remember it. The story i always heard was that it was a delta farmer who had planted his crops based on a bad prediction by Dave.

Channel 5 (NBC Memphis) ran a story about what really happened a few months back, but I missed it.

What are your thought now?
May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face, and may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.
