Trade 35 Whelen ammo

Postby rawalley » Tue Oct 30, 2012 10:37 pm

I have a box of Federal Premium 225 bonded bear claw and I want to compare it to another round without buying a box. I would like to make an equal trade for few rounds of a smaller grain. If interested please pm or call 601-317-0657. Madison area.

Richard how do you like the Federal Premium bullets i'm going to use them this year I havent had a chance to shoot them yet just wondering. I shot Hornady 200gr. last year and they did fine just thought I would try them because I shoot Federal Premium in my other guns.

Thanks Todd

I was shooting the 200 from Remington when I had mine.. That 25 grains helps take a little kick out of the mule..

I shot the 200 hornady last year and its devastating. Going to shoot barnes 180 at a couple this year. I am very comfortable out to 300yds shooting my barnes setup.

So grain increases, recoil decreases? Grain decreases, range increases? Correct?

I am by no means a gun expert and my gun has a break on it so recoil is not an issue on my encore. However, the Barnes 180 are traveling 2900 fps @ the muzzle with -8 of drop at 300 yards. The Hornady's are traveling 2850 with -9 at 300 yards. Not much of a difference, but I just like trying new rounds to see what it does to big game.

The lighter the bullet the lighter the recoil and the farther it will fly..

I picked up my box at surplus city but they are going out of business so I am unsure if they still have any.
I am sure that Vans would have some.
