So what's the word on this deer? I've heard stories from a few different folks. Is it just typical Desoto county haters or is the guy who killed this deer just another outlaw?

I went to college with this guy for a couple of years and it would surprise me very much if it was illegal. He was always a good honest guy back then.

Obviously something got worked out. Killed during bow season.
Alot of questions on it
Why did Feds get involved? Landowner pressing charges? Trespassing? Killed with rifle? Baiting? It is all wrapped up in the deer.
One thing for sure, guess it all disappeared now. Bc the state now recognizes it as top bow kill.
Oh his dad is also running for mayor of the city!
They have a great family don't get me wrong, but you break rules and cheat you need to pay like I would regardless of who you are

I agree. No offense levi, but you're the only one I've heard questioning it. I am by no means saying you're the only one or trying to start something with you at all, but I'm from Olive Branch, went to school with the shooter's little brother, my brother still lives in Olive Branch, and I have a ton of friends up there that know the shooter, and I haven't heard anybody mention anything illegal about the deer. I say it's gotta be legit if it's the new state record. They make you take a polograph when you kill a deer of this caliber.

He didn't break any rules. Rumors started flying the day his picture got out. Anytime someone kills a big deer like the the haters & internet police start spouting off.

Fed's didn't get involved.

Landowner Pressing charges? He had permission to hunt where he killed the deer. He's hunted it for years. And a lot of people "assume" where it was killed. probably 3/4 of them are incorrect.

Article on his deer. http://www.ms-sportsman.com/details.php?id=2065

Well just letting you know what I know from talking with the family, his best friend and local GW. I'm not starting anything at all. Just passing along what I do know for anyone else. Funny thing is I've been contacted by 6 other people on here that know the same stuff as I do and wondering about it.

The guy is a nice guy. I've meet him before but know nothing really about him. So I can't say anything bad about him.

Yes people will start stuff and so on all the time. It's everywhere.

As I said, either something was worked out about all this, or none of it actually happened like people spoke about. MS is saying its legal so congrats to him.

Not to many people in desoto county were talking about it after he killed it. Only people that did were his friends and land owner. That's how it got around. He posted the photo and then it disappeared bc of questions on the deer. A deer this size people question everything on it and when. That's when problems came about bc stories were not matching up with location.

Just becuase you live in desoto county doesn't mean you will hear of everything.
Oh yea, vote for his dad for mayor! We need the other guy outta there!
