I liked the fact that it referenced God making the farmer, most companies are too scared of offending someone to use that kind of advertising these days. Yea Chrysler/Dodge!

With all of the negative press farmers get these days, its nice to have some positive press... whether its from a dodge commercial or not. As a definite minority in the U.S. the nation needs reminding every once in a while where there food comes from.

On another note, I had a farmer tell me one day that if he were President the first thing he would do is make it illegal to put a John Deere tag on a Dodge truck.

It was a well marketed add at a time when your working class group wants to feel more "Merica" than the crap we are fed daily. For 4 million dollars I think they got what they wanted. It has probablly been the most discussed ad, good or bad that is what you want. When we were in cattle farming that seems to be their truck of choice.

I cant beleive anyone didnt like it. Its a COMMERICAL designed to sell trucks. What did you guys who didnt like it want them to do for a commercial? Not a farmer or a cowboy, but most folks I see with a horse trailer or stock trailer seem to have a Dodge hooked to it.

i just got a Dodge 3/4 diesel, i had my choice of them all. i drove Ford, Chevy, GMC, and Dodge. i got the Dodge because it rode better, got as good a mileage, and didn't take the uria, it is a pulling SOB, so far i got 32K miles on it an it ain't so much a grunted with a load (heaviest load to date is 28000lbs

just my $.02 on a dodge, and i don't think the commercial was anything but positive

That was actually a shorter version of Paul Harvey's speech "On the 8th Day". You can hear the full speech on several youtube videos. Regardless of what Dodge's agenda was, it was a good commercial for rural America and anytime that speech is heard a great tribute to American farmers.

Ugh. What? Would you rather see them pay Kanye to dance on the hood? Dodge didn't USE an American icon but rather marketed for what is good about that icon that most people in NYC don't know.

Dodge sponsors PRCA, FFA, and Mossy Oak to name a few and if they sell a few trucks its fine with me.

And thank you Dodge for bringing the truth about small farmers and ranchers like my dad. They don't have 5k acre cotton plantations with 10 employees. They leave early, come home late dead tired, and kill themselves so they're children have a better life than they do, and I still want to go back like the end of that poem says to make my dad proud. But many years ago I walked in the office just looking for a raise from him and he told me to get a job behind a desk so I don't end up beat down like him.

Paul Harvey was the dinner bell for many of us when we were younger. Put the IH 1486 in park and go to the shade for lunch, and "Good day" meant get your tale back on the 1486 until dad came to get ya.

Sorry for the rant.
