Thinking of taking a family trip to Charleston this summer, any input good or bad from the board?

Went with the wife last April. Enjoyed seeing Fort Sumter and some of the other Civil war forts. Ate at Hyman's. Thought they were pretty good. Saw some posts later on the site for other places to eat that we will try next time we visit. Enjoyed the downtown and the carriage ride. It was a good trip for us and will visit again.

Stay at Folly Beach. Only 10 minutes to downtown, and your children may have more fun.

Best steak i've ever eaten was in Charleston, SC at a place called Tristan or Trystan.
