Sorry that YOU had it bad. I wouldn't trade mine for the world. (And even if it is cheaper to "rent", long-term "ownership" has more benefits.)

Congratulations southernvaughn. I wish you all the best.

Giver her a little fru fru anyway! Even if all you do is rent a tux to go to the jp. Some part of all of them wants at least a little bit of that type thing. Better to do it unnecessarily now than to wish you had down the road.

And, congratulations! Marriage is what you make of it. It's hard work all the time, but well worth the effort. The Bible says God made woman for man because He knew we would need each other, and when you both realize that you do indeed need each other, and work at it together it's a beautiful thing!

+10000

it also says that some should never marry, unfortunatly many don't heed that advise and suffer dearly for it. the best advise i got on getting married came from a college buddy, "when you know its her, you know its her, and if you gotta ask it ain't her" his other advise was hunt more the first yr of your marriage than you ever have in your life, so you will always be able to tell her, Its been worse dear!!!

i messed around a lot more than anyman shoulda, but when my wife finally went out with me, i knew on the first date she was the one! took her a few more!! lol

yeah there have been some really hard times, but there have also been some awsome ones that make you put the bad ones in the back of your mind. 8 yrs latter, i love mine more than the day i asked her to marry me, we now have 2 awsome lil boys (for the most part), i don't hunt as much as i once did, but she don't shop like she once did either (lol)

my advise to newly weds and those thinking about it, make up your mind on the front end that divorce is not an option, make for dang sure your bride to be is on the same page! go to church, have a daily devotional with your Wife/bride to be, start in Proverbs, and when those hard times hit (cuz they will) turn to GOD, not a bottle or buddies, and be there for her!!!! once married, a woman needs her husband to be there for her! she will still have friends, but you just became her only best friend (or you should have) and she will want to do all kinda stuff with you (not always stuff you want to do) but if you do it with love, and your heart, you will be amazed what can happen in a marriage!!

oh congrats man, sounds like your on the right track

So no wedding. What about a bachelor party? Or a reception? Its not really a wedding with no type of partying involved.

Congrats! We are going on three years. The first year was definetly an adjustment since we did not live together before we got married. It has had its ups and downs but I tell you at least once a day she makes me smile and laugh. We may not have been married long but have been through a lot, financial problems, deaths in both our families, her ex not paying child support, her getting away from her life long best friend that was a bad influence on her. Just be there when she needs you, sometimes all it takes is a hug.

I got to thinking about why and it's was just petty stuff but the devil will use any little thing to get you to thinking that way.

Thanks for the positive encouragement guys. We both know the importance of God in our lives and were already best friends. We do everything together have the whole time and I wouldn't want it any other way. We sometimes have our arguments but we get over it pretty quick. She's a great woman that is very trustworthy and hard working. She's a good en! I've known for a long time she's the one I wanted to be with.

HAHA @ eSJAY on the quarterly fire/rain/someone farted in store remodeling sale at Carter Jewelers.

I was not so trying to be funny with my 5 year after comment but to say once you set up a household and really live as one this thing called life comes along and smacks both of you upside the head with trials and tribulations. Just the human condition. I've been married 22 years now. Good advice has been given but hard times make ya or break ya so the "best at life" husband and wife may not be able to handle money issues, miscarriages, and other life shattering events that come their way. Not trying to be negative just real. Good luck to you two and any of the reputable Jewelers should be able to help you out.

I'm pretty sure the majority of us have at some point. It seems like about that 5 year mark give or take a few months.

Serious note these statements you make write them down cause about that 5 year mark they may come in handy.

Another note I know its the worst mistake some have made, but I'll be damn if they don't do it again so it can't be that bad!

I can speak more about Marriage than most. And I would like to congratulate you and wish you the best. It's what you make it. If you fail the marriage, then you marriage will fail. If you hive more than she does and she gives more than you do, then you'll die happy with a Long marriage under your belt

^^And to amend my statement and add to it...without God, you will fail! The closer you to get to God, the closer you will get to each other
