Not to get the horse ahead of the cart, but MSU, OM and USM all look good this year. If I had to pick a leader I would say OM based on the strength of schedule, so far. However, that being said we are only 9 games into the season and conference play has not started so its difficult to say who will be in the best position come tournament time.
However, if all 3 keep rolling, would it be possible for 2 of the 3 teams to host a regional this year? Would the NCAA let that happen?

Baseball hosting question (yeah, I know its early)
"That's the one trouble with this country: everything, weather, all, hangs on to long. Like our rivers, our land: opaque, slow, violent; shaping and creating the life of man in its implacable and brooding image." William Faulkner

I do not think they would let it happen. NCAA is real "politicaly correct" these days making sure some Northern schools get chances to host. Your bid does not have a lot to do with whether you get a regional or not. Your bid would come into play if all 3 of those schools had great records and were potential host sites (another words who of the 3 would get a regional). Would love to see a regional in Starkville (followed by a super regional
), but there is a lot of baseball yet to be played. Honestly I wish I would not here the word Omaha at all from MSU public relations and marketing until it is much closer time. They will jinx it for sure!!! UM learned their lesson about talking Omaha before it is actually in hand. MSU needs to back off the talk and concentrate on the conference. Polk was good about not mentioning the chance to play in Omaha until postseason was assured. This group should do the same to an extent.

I think it is safe to assume that the odds are pretty good that at least one of the two Mississippi SEC schools will be in Omaha this year. The key is a deep staff and both seem to have that in play. The SECw is pretty stacked this year with Arky, OM and State being as good as they are right now.

either way we gotta be proud of all the MS schools baseball programs. speaks volumes that the rest of the country can't ignore.
i've gone to about half the Rebs games so far this year and the atmosphere couldn't be better.

I wish college baseball would get more air time. Even though the team I pull for is not that good I would still love to watch some college baseball. They play college softball on ESPN why not college baseball?

They will have some SEC games on ESPN once they get into that part of the schedule, but agree it should be more college baseball on TV. They have shown some good ratings during the CWS so I think it is a product, especially before MLB gets going good and NBA finals are here. I watch little to no NBA, but will watch a little during playoffs or finals.
