We are big fans of Baytowne. They have zip lines, a huge playground, inflatables (on certain nights), good food and a play set where the kids are tethered in and walk around and climb around.

RedBar, Bud and Allys, Louisiana Lagniappe, Acme Oyster House at Baytown. It's waaaayyyyyy over rated and full of tourist but
I always have to eat lunch at Fudpuckers before I leave coming home just to say I went.

V Seagrove is a fantastic restaurant in Seagrove. I have eaten at all of the above mentioned restaurants and V Seagrove is the best meal I have had down there...and I have eaten a lot of meals in that area over the years.

I agree. I just ate there last month for the second time. It is my favorite place down there.

My favorite place in Destin is probably the Ocean Club at Tops'l.

I agree on V Seagrove - it was excellent.

Cafe Tango is always great - small place and need reservations a few days ahead of time... http://cafetango30a.com Order the Lobster Ravioli

Another good one is Cafe 30A... http://www.cafethirtya.com

And make sure to have a drink at Bud and Alley's rooftop bar at sunset. Best view on the coast in the evening.

Go to one of Sexton's fish markets, pick out 3-4 lbs of fresh shrimp and ask them to steam them while you wait, grab a quart of seafood bisque, a loaf of their french bread, a bottle of wine and go back to your balcony and enjoy the best meal you will have all week. Beats the heck out of traffic, long lines, high dollar drinks, and tipping waiters...

The heavy duty Styrofoam coolers they'll pack food in are also handy for beach use during the rest of your vacation. Suckers keep ice almost as well as a Yeti, but they're light enough to carry to the beach.

We are staying on the bay at Sandestin... hopefully the traffic will not be bad.
Sometimes you just have to close your eyes, count to ten, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you wouldn't look good in prison stripes... and just smile at that dumbass and walk away.
