If that is true, I can tell you what your saying is easier said then done.
Try to do something via submersible, much less try to thread a fitting. Oh, and there's likely way more torque required to unscrew it that the submersible would be spinning to get the fitting out, then how you get the new fitting in?
Think people, THINK!

You obviously missed the sarcasm. From where I'm sitting, NO fix is going to be an easy one at this point, though.

Just let my wife go out there and wash her hair a couple times. That crap's constantly clogging up the shower drain.

Just heard about an idea to dump tons of fresh hay on the spill to soak up the oil then skim it off. Anyone heard this too and is it something they are seriously considering?

The hay seems to work in the video, but the amount of hay needed would not be feasible.
Check out this comparison on Google Earth.

You can put in your city or region and compare the size of the spill.

sometimes, the simplest things work the best. With all the technology these days, we tend to forget about the simple things that are often times way more effective and economical.

i say they take 5280 foot of pipe, and form the sections together and start lowering them down. they could have them ready in 100' sections or longer. the kind of pipe that threads together or welds together. and when the get to the top all they gotta do is pump it out of the pipe. all they need is 53 piecies of pipe 100' long.
They need to quite screwing around!
