Oh yeah,

Kenny Rogers....

admits to having conversations with Auburn in the past, but not regarding Cam Newton. This was just stated on CFB Live by Joe Schad.

Looks to me like Slive is pissed at State. State must have bypassed Slive and reported directly to the NCAA.

So Slive has been knowing about this since January and he does nothing. Does not report to the NCAA. Does not inform Auburn. Then he blames it on State because we did not provide enough information. Slive says he don't even know who reported it to the NCAA. Sounds like no one in the SEC front office would do anything about it so State decided to blow the lid off of the whole thing and let the chips fall where they may.

That's what I think happened. I'm just scared this will wind up biting State in the backside.

I don't think Mullen will be on Slive's Christmas card list. Mullen may want to think about who he is running his mouth to. If you coach in the SEC long you will eventually need the comish's at some point.

This really does not look good for the SEC or anyone within 100 yards of this situation.

Atlanta news is reporting that Dad admitted to talking about money with a former Mississippi State players. However, He goes on to state that Cam, Cam's mother, and Auburn knew nothing about this. Further, none of the coaching staff offered money.

They also state that the Newtons have not received any money from any school and they have opened all their records and church records to the NCAA, etc.

So, here is what I gather from the whole situation. Cam is recruited by State. Daddy Newton wants money, but State says NO. However, they continue to recruit Cam under acceptable guidelines. Things fall through & State reports the illegal activity to the SEC in January. Time rocks on & the season starts. Now, the SEC decides to possibly fine State because the fans make noise with cowbells. So State is looking at losing money because the fans are uncontrollable. All-the-while, Auburn gets praised for having a great season, which they have, and a possible shot at the National Championship, with a QB who may have possibly been involved in a major violation. Slive's office sees Auburn as the SEC's only chance to play for the NC, so they sweep the investigation under the rug. However, they continue to threaten State about the cowbells.

My thinking is that State has had enough with the SEC's BS to fine them, and do nothing with the Newton situation. Slive gets angry because he has been exposed to the NCAA, and starts crowing about guidelines that should be followed when reporting violations. Now the story gets twisted to point fingers at State. Looks to me like Slive may have to attend a few more meetings with the NCAA than he had anticipated.

I honestly feel sorry for the rest of the kids on Auburn's team, that have worked their butts off this year, possibly for nothing. This is real world politics at it's lowest of lows, where once again, the crooks gain at the expense of the innocent.

This is why I am hoping that there is solid evidence that the public does not know about. There better be some taped phone calls or some sort of solid proof that the Newtons received money from Auburn. If not, then why is State pushing this? If nothing can be proven then State is gonna look awfully bad and get crucified by the media (even worse than we already are). We are having a dang good season without Cam. Why push this unless there is rock solid evidence?
