Tell me about the hook ups with the lifeproof case. Sound like they were a little persnickety. Like you had to have only apple brand chargers and the aux jack had to be screwed in and out. If your familiar with otter boxes, how would relate the screen covers. Specifically I'm interested in visibility in daylight and minor dust scratches. Better, the same, or worse for either one.

Not busting any chops here just looking for an assessment from some one who works their case rather than relying on shady city slicker online reviews.

Life proof case hands down. I also heard only apple chargers will work on it. I have a car charger from wal mart that works with it. I have an older iPod that the charger is a little bigger than an iPhone charger and it doesn't work with the life proof case. As long as the after market charger is the same size as the iPhone charger you will be fine. To me the screen is clearer and responds better with the life proof case compared to otter box. The phone clip is an extra $25 but without the clip it fits in your pocket better without getting hung on the rubber like the otter box. If you put it on right it is waterproof. I had a video putting mine in water but accidentally erased it. The headphone jack has to screw in and comes with the case. Hope this helped you a little.

Otterbox is supposed to be coming out with a waterproof case for the iPhone.

Lifeproof is the only way to go!

I use a Monster Aux cord and it fits fine, yes you have to unscrew the port..it's a sealed case to be waterproof. Also have a Dynex charger that works fine along with the factory charger.

I agree with everything said its the way to go.
Yea it's a little bit of a hassle with the screw in jack and sometimes it's a hard to get the the charger cord in in the dark but to me the positives far out way the the negatives.

I can hear better on the lifeproof and see the screen better.

I am pretty hard on a phone as well. I was getting a new otterbox ever 4 months and I have had my lifeproof case for about 6 months and I am about to replace it since I have scratched the screen up and finally tore the rubber case.

I've had both and like the Lifeproof better. Slimmer and waterproof. Sound with the speaker is a little muffled (actually louder in the back of the phone). But, it is waterproof. I've had my kids spill Coke on it and left it in the rain. No problems yet. I'm not getting an iPhone 5 until they come out with a Lifeproof case for it.

Lifeproof is hands down the greatest cell phone case ever. I destroyed my case within the one yer warranty. I called lifeproof told them what happened and they sent me a brand new case no questions asked. My phone still looks brand new. I actually went on a float trip and had it in my pocket for hours before I realized it and the phone was fine. I too will wait to get the iPhone 5 when lifeproof makes a case. The iPad case they make is great too.

I got the life proof case last week and love it. Just made the big jump from the original I phone to the 4. Had my old one in an otter box from the date of purchase. Looked new when I took it out and traded it in. Those fools gave my $42.00 for it at the att store. I also picked up the little Frog Skinz speaker. It works great. Just turn on the music and lay the phone on top and it plays through the speakers. Great forwhen I'm working in the shop or in the field.

I'm behind the times. What is the frog skin speakers?
