When i get my money together Chad...You will have the first opportunity because wherever I get it from...It will have to be ordered. The one I like is the Remington 700 Varmint SF(I think). It's the composite stock, Stainless fluted barrel one. 26" Barrel i think..No body has them in Jackson but everyone can order them for me

Her is the one I looked at. I forgot that the Stainless one doesn't come in .243 so I had to go back to the Blued one. 84217 is the number.

The browning's and Ruger's don't come in 243 for their varmint guns so I guess Remington is the one to go with. I don't like the savage..Any other suggested Manufacturers??

I've had great success on deer and antelope with the 95gr Nosler Ballastic Tip. Has put them all down quick even with some not so perfect shots. I think that would be a great round for hogs as well. I wouldn't use a lighter varmit round for hogs. You want something that will stay together and penetrate. .243 is a great versatile round. Have fun with it.

Really apples to oranges here. The Ruger is a compact model with a 16.5 inch barrel and was designed for youth/women, I like mine because I like short guns, easy to get in and out of blinds and through the woods and really handi while your walking through the woods with it slung on your sholder. If your primary use is going to be deer then I would say the Ruger..

The Remington 700 is one of the most accurate actions ever made.. Most bench shooters use it. The long barell will really help on velocity and accuracy if your shooting little (Varmits) targets.. So if your primary use is going to be varmits the the Remington..

So for deer in the woods I would go Ruger, for varmits or longer range shooting I would go with the Rem...

Think I'll go the Remington route cause I don't mind a long gun and i think the accuracy will come in handy..Never know what i'll be shooting or how far. Coyotes could be a couple of hundred yards

You won't go wrong with that caliber. I love it. It is perfect for what you want. I have killed over 30 deer with one using the winchester 100grain power points and shot several yotes. I think the Remington will serve you the best for dual purpose.
