13-14 mpg

Big truck, plenty of interior room .......... burns gas like crazy.
Mine got 17-18 before tires and lift. 5.7L
Best my brother has gotten is 14.7 and he lives on the interstate/highways.

Either I got a good one or he got a bad one. I average that after the changes.

My buddy's dad has a 2 wheel drive Tundra, and his gets 17.5 at best. I like a Tundra better than any other truck on the market today. I just couldn't handle the gas bill.

The Chevy/GMC trucks are getting a total makeover inside and out starting with the 2014 models. New body style, new interior and new engine options. Last I heard they are hitting showrooms this summer. Might be worth waiting a few months.

Ive had 3 new trucks in the last 5 years. 2 GM's and 1 ford with ecoboost. Put over a 100K on all them. One of the GM's went through a couple of wheel bearings, otherwise not a single problem. I dont think theres much difference in terms of reliability between them. GM does have an edge with the 100K mile powertrain warranty. Ford only has a 60K.

Tundra is a great truck that to me sits between a half ton and three quarter ton, at least towing wise. If your going to tow a 35-50 hp tractor, 25-30ft travel trailer, 25-30ft boat, or something else in that weight range and not have to have a diesel this is the truck you want. If your towing a skiff or a four wheeler with the occasional large load get a f-150 or z71.I loved mine but had to sell due to job changes and a lot more traveling, but when I drove it for mileage on the interstate doing 70 on the cruise I got 19mpg.

I guess I have a good one. I've gotten 18.5 mpg over the last 104k miles in my double cab 2wd. That's not just on a good day, that is computer numbers for the entire 104k. I have checked the numbers by hand on at least 50 tanks. A few years ago I was consistantly over 19 mpg but it was all interstate and never over 70mph. I think the varying mileage claims on all trucks has more to do with driving habits than the truck....

This....

Except I would say get a Dodge before the F-150 for towing. I wouldn't consider the GM for pulling more than a fourwheeler, unless changing the gear ratio. I know my Dodge out tows the Fords and GMs I have had experience with. A buddy just picked up a new Tundra and from riding in it I can tell that thing is a beast....haven't been with him pulling anything yet.

Anybody got anything positive to say about a Titan?

This. I don't trust any of them not to sell me a piece of junk, but this made the decision for me. I bought a Sierra in 2010. Im not in love with it.

seems like i remember something about the purpose for the abundant horsepower and big, aggressive tires wasn't for parking at the gate!

I drive 2010 F150. I LOVE it. Only thing about it is its extended cab and the seatbelt is attached to the rear door. Therefore, every time you want to let someone in or out the back seat, you have to unbuckle. Huge design flaw.
