Well H3!!, I must be the only "Odd Duck" on this board. I love my Mossberg 500 pump. It is dependable. It is simple to operate and care for. I can hit with it. It doesn't kick like a government mule. And, it is versatile enough to use most anywhere for most anything.

Of course, with the ported barrel, it sometimes may cause temporary deafness to others in the duckblind. (Sorry GREENHEAD.  )

Your not.

I still have my Mossberg 20ga pump that was the first shotgun my dad bought me 20 years ago. And my current gun is a Rem 870, so even still I'm shooting a pump and not the fancy smancy autos that everybody just has to have.

Same here, have had one since the early 90's. Never let me down, I haven't cleaned it in about 10 good years. Spray some rem oil in the magazine tube and action and you are good to go for a whole season. Break ice , throw in bottom of boat, fall in the water, doesn't matter keeps on shooting. If I had one of them fancy high dollars guns that can't get wet or dirty, I wouldn't know what to do.

Was never much of a Mossberg fan but they have come out with some decent products lately and I have grabbed a few.. I have been pleased with them so far..

I met him back in 2007 at the SHOT Show in Vegas. Among other things, I asked if he ever used 2-Liter plastic bottle painted black to mix in his decoy spread. His reply, "Yep, used 'em quite a bit and love 'em, though not anymore since I have sponsors and they wouldn't like that." Met Ted Nugent at that same show as well.

I'm just glad that I got mine when I did. Just wait. Before duck season there's gonna be Special, Duck Commander, Limited Edition Mossberg 500-A Pump shotguns; with vent-rib, double fiber optic sights, multi-port barrel, interchangable multi-choke system, Hi-Tech shock absorbing synthetic stocks, chambered in 3 3/4 in. WITH the delux neoprene gun sling that includes the famous Duck Commander logo(for an additional nominal charge, of course); ALL, in your choice of either Max HD, Mossy Oak Traditional Breakup, or flat Black.
