I had a coon come after me in the water once. I had just let him out of a foot trap and was trying to kill him. Then he was trying to kill me. He growled just like that. I may be fat but I'm pretty dang fast when I need to be.
His front feet were the first thing I noticed in the above video.

That would have been worth money to watch happen ^. Glad you made it out.
grangran use to make the wild ones her pets. Then one got snappy and clawed her. Jokers mean business when they are mad. Needless to say when she got done with that 1 none of the others ever came back again.

Now let me get this straight. You were trying to kill the coon, but you let him out of the trap the first? Is that some kind of new fair chase method with catch and released thrown in for good measure?

I am going to make a potentialy stupid comment, so hold on tight. I thought coons were in the canine family. Is that not true?

My bet is on coon too. My granddaddy hunted and trapped them for years. As a kid, I would go out to his house and mess with them after he caught them in a trap. Those suckers will growl, hiss, snarl, bark...whatever. Okay, maybe not bark, but he definitely acted and and looked like a coon with no hair to me.
