GH22, what's the cost of tuition got to do with revenue???

Kinda interesting to look at though...but not a foolproof indicator of success...for instance Arkansas spends roughly 50% more than UGA on football, but are they 50% better....

same thing I was thinking Gordon, still would like to know how Vandy brings in more money, maybe the student pricing for tickets is a little different, who knows? I know the tickets were cheap for students at State back 94-98. and here lately as bad as State as been students may just be the majority of the ticket buyers, Really dont know just a thought, Damm womens atheletics is killing the pocket books of the SEC schools, but fair is fair, maybe if some of them bushhogs would go topless their revenue would increase, well then again maybe that aint such a good idea in some cases hehehe

It doesn't have anything to do with revenue, got alot to do with expenses. Vandy's revenue is 2 mil more than MSU, but their expenses are 6 mil more than MSU. I forgot to factor in the 20 someodd trainers, managers, grad asst to that figure so add another $800,000 in vandy expenditures for football scholarships. There having to spend 6 mil to make 2 mil.

Yall keep forgetting how bad State has been the past few years. Not many games on TV and not that many people going to the games. Maybe Croom can get them back to something closely resembeling a team. Then if there revenue does not pass Vandy???? Then it blows my mind.

I may be looking at it all wrong but its got everything to do with revenue, when wondering how can Vandy be bringing in more money than State. We are not talking how profitably the college's football program is, we're talking how much money is being brought in from their program. The expenses will truly differ between the programs, but what is the reason Vandy brings in more money. Do they have larger attendences per game, student ticket pricing different, sell more football licencees apparell, thats what I am asking, how are they brining in more revenue than MS State? Not how is State more profitable? I know that answer already.....
