STARKVILLE — Mississippi State receiver Corey Gardhigh was arrested by the MSU Police Department and charged with four counts of burglary, according to the arrest report obtained by The Clarion-Ledger.

Gardhigh, a freshman who was planning to redshirt this season, was "suspended indefinitely from the team for a violation of university policy," coach Sylvester Croom announced in a release.

Reached on Friday, MSU spokesman Mike Nemeth confirmed that Gardhigh's arrest and suspension are related.

Croom said he would have no further comment on the situation. Gardhigh was not available for comment.

According to the report, Gardhigh was arrested at 12:06 a.m. Wednesday in the MSU Police Department. The report lists four charges of burglary, but does not specify the items allegedly involved. It also does not state when the alleged offenses took place.

Officers in the department would provide no additional details of the arrest or the circumstances.

Gardhigh, of Cedartown, Ga., will not practice with the team for the rest of the season, Croom said, but he will remain in school.
