snow geese while duck hunting?

OK......I'll agree with you on one thing (since you ARE a river hunter, like me)......that it is HIGHLY unusual for geese to land in the decoys over water.......especially near land. They usually land just outside and SWIM in, don't they? :wink:

We used to always knock down a few canadas hunting islands on the river. You could set your watch by them getting up from the roost and flying 15 yards over your head in the early morning. Never had any pitch (or sail) down in the decoys, but we used to frequently get them landing out and swimming in. This year we had a lot of specks that would decoy in on our duck spread, it became more common as the season wore on. Most of the snows we shot came from after the hunt ditch sneaks, makes a good ending to a good morning. Nothing like doing your part for conservation. :wink:

yeah we had a couple specks decoy very well to duck spread and some calling the other day. But what squealer requested was these I'm sure:
