I think that both teams should be fitted for cheerleader uniforms and go cheer for a real football team. Mississippi SUCKS in everything!!!

Well, I've got that covered as well ---I will be in a duck blind that morning, with the only sounds being that of ducks coming alive in the pre-dawn, while I enjoy a good cup of hot coffee, some quiet conversation with my hunting partners, and get ready to bust some ducks at shooting time.

I think that beats listening to the verbal pissing matches between the fans of these two schools -----hands down!!!

Despite having UM season tickets, I have not attended an Egg Bowl since the game in Oxford when UM beat MSU after MSU had umpteen chances to win it in the red zone ---Um refers to the game as "The Stand". Todd Jordan was MSU's part-time QB and punter. Joe Lee Dunn was DC for UM.
That was quite a while ago. I have just lost my tolerance for the extreme hatred displayed by some of the fans on both sides of this rivalry. So, I just decided that I would not personally participate in that madness anymore. And I have not regretted my decision once.
This is exactly the reason why I do not want UM to ever renew the USM series. That would just be one more extremely ugly rivalry game on the schedule to avoid attending. That UM -USM series was completely out of hand back in the 70s. Those old enough to remember will understand where I am coming from on this sentiment.

Same here. It only took two Egg Bowls, one in each stadium, to turn me sour to ever attending again. UM fans throwing whiskey bottles and everything they could throw at State's band and the dog-cussin' of some UM fans pre-game at Starkville for no reason other than wearing the wrong colors. Too much hatred and I even felt uneasy at both places. Not worth it.

In 2003, the only year I attended an Egg Bowl game in Starkville, I plunked right down into the student section with my girlfriend with no problems. I cheered for my Rebs, but didn't go out of my way to be a pest. Lord knows there were plenty of times during that game that I could have rubbed it in a little. Actually spent some time talking to a couple of State fans about duck hunting and the departure of JWS.
