Chris's surgery has finally been scheduled. It will be Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock at the Children's Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham( even though he is 28). He will be having both surgeries. The doctors feel that neither will be a total fix by itself and the two together could produce better results. One operation will be to put a shunt in his spinal column(the entire length of it) and the other will be to enlarge the hole at the base of his skull and pull the cerebellum down from its normal position. They will be performed at the same time.
Chris seems to have a lot of faith the things will go well but he is very low of spirit, anyway. It must be really hard to keep your chin up knowing that the chances of a negative outcome are higher than those for a positive one.
He sends thanks for the prayer support.
I'll let you know the outcome as soon as I can.
