Walkin is way over rated. The deer that you see may be coming from a mile off. Not to mention that if you walk very far the scent you leave around and the sweat you break are much bigger deer spooking factors. I drive just close enough to keep the deer from smelling my mule.

I've seen bucks walk within 5 yds of a bike and never spook or pay any attention to it.

Come to think of it I have never heard a deer speak either. and when I am talking to them it does seem that they are no paying attention.

I like to swing tree top to tree top with my knife in my mouth. When I see a good one I jump on him and stab him in one swift motion. Nothing like a suprise attack to get you ready to sit in a deer stand.

Nice

I've dug coffin shapes holes in the middle of a trail. I'll lay in the pit covered with leaves waiting for the unsuspecting doe of a lifetime to walk over me and then I arise like a zombi and BOOMBLAMSMACKPOW, before she knows it I've broken her neck.

I will tell you this much. No one is walkin all the way in where I hunt. You would have to get up mighty early to get to the stand before daylight. Small place , maybe but not a big place. At least not how places I hunt are arranged.

I walk all the way I only hunt 80 acres so the only time I ride is when I am going to get a deer, or plant food plots. No joy riding!

Small tracks it would be fine and feasable. Not the places I hunt.

Bigpoppa, what is it a 2 mile walk from the skinning shed to the dr. pepper stand. I would smell like a skunk before i got there.

Walk or ride? Well in my opinion (like I have said before) I think folks give deer way too much credit on wisdom. The first two deer I killed I was not even planning on going hunting that evening (notice: two deer and I said evening). My brother in-law asked me to go with him so I said sure, I was already over there and did not have any camo. All I had on was a pair of dark Carhartt pants and a long sleeve gray shirt (same outfit I was wearing when I killed the nine point last year, look it up there is a picture floating around here somewhere) that was washed in the same ole fruity schit my wife washes clothes in, in other words the scent does not matter, nor camo, as long as its dark clothing. The nine point I killed last year was about a 1/2 mile in the woods behind the house where dogs roam and kids roam on four wheelers. When you catch a buck with one thing on his mind, if you get my drift, then you will easily put the crosshairs on em and take em down. These company's now days are just out to make fools out of everyone and steal there money, which they seem to be doing a good job at it. They have never made any of my money though. My first buck was an eight point (right after I finished a pack of nabs and vienas, prime example that scent does not matter cause they were not peanut butter, they were jalapeno and cheese) which was two years ago, then last year I killed a nine, both deer I was sitting on the ground (and yes I do have deer stands). You have to know what to look for and hunt em like indian's. If everyone wants to waste there money just keep on doing it and I will just keep on killing em the old fashioned way....... To answer your question, walk or ride cause it doesn't matter either way
