Forrest nailed a big doe 30 minutes after daylight Saturday. Duncan shot that afternoon and looked like a good hit, but no blood or hair. We stomped teh woods the next day looking and no deer. Maybe next time.
We saw 6 sat. am but it was so foggy that I was afraid one of them might have been a spike so no shot.
if im not correct someone correct me but i do believe now in the state of mississippi it is legal for a youth to shoot one spike a year......15 years old and younger.....

i took my sister yesterday afternoon behind the house and a doe walked out a good mature doe 4 1/2 years old or so and she was shakin the whole blind and she shot and we looked and looked but no blood.

You are correct but, with our club rules a spike would cost you $500 smokes... So we shy away from them there spikes.....

took the boy out Saturday and he missed a doe in the AM and got him a little 4 point in the evening.
it was just about dark and Cody was climbing out of our tripod stand as he was ready to go. action was slow. he hit the 3rd step down and a buck entered the food plot. i was still in my seat in the stand. i snapped my fingers to get him back up there. he got seated and got the little guy in his scope. missed   . the deer ran out of the food plot not knowing what had just occured. blew one good time and came back into the plot again. Cody did not miss the 2nd time. dropped about 50 yards away in the plot and did not have to hunt for him.
it was good times :D

My sons first deer at 7yrs old, 85 yds with a .243, he worked the jeeters out with an early miss, and made up for it on this one...my visitation schedule didnt work out for youth weekend, so I put the gun down this weekend so he could shoot. I do believe this little doe has ruined him, he is ready to shoot everything he sees now
