Mac's meat on HWY 82 does do a good job. Man we carried them alot of meat from the Star in 2000. Those guys are real nice also, let us come in the back and watch them add the seasoning to the sausage until it was like we wanted it. Your right, $40.00 for the whole deer.

There's a guy on Hickory Grove Rd. that used to process with his grandson - R&D Processing, but I can't find his number anywhere.

If you go out passed the MSU golf course and Belair Estates, the next road is Hickory Grove (left goes to 82), take a right and go just under 8/10ths of a mile and he will be on the left in a little building behind his house (I think there are 2 buildings - 1 is his wife's beauty parlor), if you are riding around one day, drive by and see if he is still doing it. He is usually open most of the season (takes off around Christmas and New Years to hunt, himself).

papkes by oktibbeha county lake shut down last year bout mid way through gun season due to the owner had health issues. or at least that is what his son told me when i tried to drop one off last year. i was under the impression that they were closing for good. Are they open this year? I hope so cause i was pleased with his service and quality. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Garner's will do you right. He'll even school you in a game of checkers too.

Sansing's on the other hand is a little slow. I'm still looking for them to call me about a deer left there in 1994.

I second Sanseen's, this is the only place my dad will use anymore. I used them a couple times before I quit deer hunting and I liked them. Better than anyone in the Louisville area

Also heard that Clytee's is processing again. New ownership. It is on Old West Point Rd. just passed the 82 bypass overpass going towards West Point from town. They also have great steaks cut to your spec. Call a couple of days ahead for Fillet - usually keeps New York Strip and Ribeye in stock. He also makes some cajun foods - stuffed chickens, boudin, casseroles to go, etc. Nice fella.
