Claiming to be a muslim would not make him very electable

I don't believe him or trust him. He can say what he wants, but I will believe what I want.

Surely he would not lie, after all he is a stand up guy

duramax wrote:The other thing that all the nay sayers will tout is that products will be so much more expensive. In truth, when companies don't have to pay payroll taxes, or any other taxes, that will knock off about 20% on their costs of production. That way products will end up costing the consumer about the same as before since companies can charge less for the same product. Lowering payroll taxes, making it cheaper for the producer, will allow the company to hire more people, creating more jobs for AMERICANS. This will save companies from having to move over seas for cheaper labor. This will allow the market to WORK, as opposed to being hand cuffed by gov't involvement.

The problem with this theory is that we live in a capitalist society. Just because a company can charge less doesn't mean they will, especially when people are buying the product at current prices. That 20% reduction for cost production is just another 20% for them to stick in the bank. I know if I had my own business that's what I'd do with it.

I'm not against Obama because he's black or Muslim or that he has used drugs. He' just doesn't have any experience. He has no business in dealing with foreign affairs cold turkey. That's like buying a new duck call with never having blown one and trying to be a duck guide.

That's the beauty of a free markey society. That one company CAN do that and you could do that. But there are other companies out there to compete for the market share and charge less for that very same widget that your company is making. When there is no invisible hand of gov't, the market ALWAYS wins, and the people will benefit! What we will have is AMERICAN companies competing with foreign once again. Bringing America back to it's rightful place as the true economic king.

"Change" is the big word being used by all candidates. I am not a Guilliani fan but he had a great quote last night.

If by change you mean surrending in a war in Iraq and raising taxes, then that is not a good change.

I think it is all but certain that Obama will be our next President. He and the Dem Congress will immediately raise taxes and put the motion in place to ruin the best healthcare system in the world. The increase in your taxes will be more than you pay for insurance. These guys are theorist with no actual clue how these theories actually hurt the country in the long run.

They want big government and think government is the answer for all problems. Question. What does the government do well? Answer. Nothing. Certainly not better than the private sector.

I don't know if you could call him a "duck hunter" or not, but I'm pretty sure Huckabee has spent some time in a pit or two. (Definitely more of a duck hunter than Clinton).

Only time I ever saw Huckabee in person was when he came in a cafe on main street at the festival in Stuttgart and sat at the table next to me and my family. Seemed real nice....weighed about 400 then.

Huck is a big duck hunter. With the schedule he has been keeping the last year, it's pretty tough to make time to hunt when you are as ambitious as he is to be in the Whitehouse.

Read the link...the man has been a practicing Christian for well over 20 years, way before he started getting interested in politics, and despite spending some time abroad as a child was not "raised in an Islamic household". He doesn't wear his faith on his sleeve, like many candidates on both sides of the aisle (insert Larry Craig joke here), and I respect him for it and think all the "he's a Muslim" stuff is ridiculous. Feel free to not like him or his politics, you've got every right, but at least do it on the facts.

It looks like Hillary is inploding which makes Obama the leading candidate for the Dems.. Personally I think he will be easier to beat for the Republicans.. As for the Rep. I can't decided who I like the best.. I am leaning towards the Hunting Baptist Basist.

But to be honest. If it had to be a Dem in the White House I think I would prefer Hillary over Obama..

I read the link(2nd time,1st time was weeks ago).It states a claim from Insight magazine that CNN refutes. No doubt that CNN wants Obama to look electable, that certainly would not be the first tme that they have distorted the news to support there liberal agenda. Mind you that I am not claiming that he,or his father are "radical muslims" .However,I do find it difficult to believe that an Islamic school would not promote an Islamic agenda. The snopes link does state that he did, indeed attend such a school. And,he did live in a predominatly Islamic community when he was young.I was stating that there was an influence of Islam, not equating him with Al Queda,or any other extremist group.I know that he is a member of a Christian Church. However, 'wearing one's faith on one's sleeve" is a part of Christianity. Jesus said that we must pick up our cross daily. The Bible states that "he who has been set free is free indeed" It's hard to hide a born again experience once it has happened to you.
