Yep, more than likely Dr. Afton's bluebills banded on Pool 19 of the MS River in 2005. I think they stopped putting nasal saddles on them and fitted some with the GPS transmitters.

Please report the leg band number.

Here is Dr. Afton's response when I emailed him last week about the scaup banding project:

As per the nasal saddled scaup, they were all marked at Pool 19 in March 2005 as part of 1 of my former grad student’s research project (Mike Anteau). We painted birds at Pool 19 in March 2004 and then tried the nasal saddles in March 2005 to try increase the number of re-sightings of birds, but neither color-marking technique resulted in enough re-sightings to do much statistical analysis; thus I have gone to using sat-radios. The main problem with them is cost, but they provide excellent data throughout the entire life cycle of these birds
