POST YOUR DEER MOUNTS!!!!
So some moron stole your mount because he had it in his scope a couple weeks earlier....what a punk.[/quote]SNOT wrote:
Yes, he was a gamehog in the truest sense of the word. If in the duck blind and he was calling the shot, he would wait until they were in front of him (and passed everyone else) to call it.... which only lasted for 2 or 3 shots, then he couldn't figure out why noone would wait for his call to shoot....
Thing about the deer head was that it had one side of his antlers broken off from fighting (didn't know until I got waders on and crossed the slough to retrieve it - he was behind a tree when he raised his head I saw a bright flash of 4 LONG tines sticking out and figured I had better shoot before I had time to get nervous about it and dropped him where he stood). Inside spread was guessed to be over 20 inches and would have been a 10 pt. if symetrical, that would have scored over 140 easily). There are very distinct attributes to the remaining horn that would leave no doubt about whether it was mine or not..... I'll see if I can post the pics after the kill. They are distinct enough that anyone that hasn't seen it in person, would know it if they saw it.

gee, haven't heard that one before......

broke my heart when I finally got back down in the slough to it and found that it only had one side!!
b. burns has killed 2 that we think are offspring of it (9 pt. and 8 pt.) - both had the "bowl" at the same place on the outside of the rack (not as deep, though) and both had the drop curve (may not be able to see it in the pics) at the end of the G4, but theirs was a more pronounced drop.
there's one down there that we've been chasing (has been seen 2 times) this year that we think is the daddy of mine, been chasing it so hard that I haven't gotten my doe meat yet. Our rut started with rifle season and is back in swing now, so does have been on the back burner.

Thanks.
Another example of how sorry he is: Had my buddies 12 year old with him hunting. The boy was hunting and mr. sorry was just sitting with him (wasn't hunting) - a nice buck walked out, the boy was about to shoot, and mr. sorry grabbed the gun and shot... missed the deer!! Karma works out that way!

I'm not a taxidermist, and not really good buddies with one either (although I should be after all those). These are just an accumulation over a whole bunch of years of being somewhat lucky..
I actually have two more in a closet that are small, and I ran out of space..
